After 10 years of adding up, Marvel Comics Universe (MCU) finally almost comes to the end of Phase Three, which means some of the “original” members of The Avengers will no longer be on the team, and that, is something Marvel aficionados are afraid of seeing in “Avengers: Infinity War” but also looking forward to. Three weeks prior to “Deadpool 2”, another anticipated Marvel feature film, “Avengers: Infinity War” was released in the US on April 27th, 2018.

As the previous episodes, “Avengers: Infinity War” continues to invite as many heroes as it can. This time, The Avengers and their allies must be willing to sacrifice all in an attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe.

First of all, the most amazing of “Avengers: Infinity War” is that there are more than 65 characters that people actually recognize and due to the fact that all the stones are scattered around the world, or to be more precise, the whole universe, everyone in the film rushes on different planets trying to stop Thanos before it’s too late. How to make sure the audience remembers where’s where and who’s who is very critical, and Director Anthony and Joe Russo did an awesome job to keep the plot clear with so many complicated names being put together.

As mentioned above, closing Phase Three, some of the original Avengers need to step down, just as Wolverine in “Logan”, but in order to not give out spoilers, how and who disappears won’t be discussed here. Since there’s still “Avengers 4” coming out scheduled next year, nothing progressive has been mentioned in “Avengers: Infinity War”, only to show moviegoers how and how many stones Thanos has collected so far.

If you’ve seen the previous Avengers flock, you’d know that Marvel Studio tries to insert some moral values into the story. For example, Tony Stark created Ultron for good, but it decided that eliminating human race is the only way saving Earth. Somehow, it’s an accusation of people doing too much destruction and pollution to the environment. Actually, Thanos’ idea is similar to Ultron’s, and therefore he’s depicted as the villain as well. Superheroes are only human, or most of them, although they aren’t perfect, they’ll try their best to solve the problem.

If “Thor: Ragnarok” is “The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers” of MCU, “Avengers: Infinity War” is “The Return of the King” of MCU. Even as a more narrative motion picture and plot propeller, action scenes aren’t emitted. Every character gets to show what they’re best at even though not much screen time each one has.

“Avengers: Infinity War” might not be the best Marvel movie so far, but it gives infinite excitement and gets its fans ready for the upcoming series.

  1. Love this idea "If “Thor: Ragnarok” is “The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers” of MCU, “Avengers: Infinity War” is “The King Returns” of MCU."

I actually walked out feeling like Infinity War was more of "The Two Towers" given how it ends on such an intense low note. Return of the King will be Captain Marvel coming in and telling Thanos what's up!

    1. That's a much better analysis. I thought Infinity War is The King Returns because in Ragnarok, people was evacuated like "The Two Towers", so I think the high note of "The Return of the King" will come later~ (noticed that I typed the title wrong, oops
